ITS A. CUCCOVILLO FOUNDATION is a short-cycle higher Education (Level 5 EQF) Institution that operates in the domain of mechanics-mechatronics. The Foundation currently has more than 86 members, which include: universities, upper secondary schools, VET providers, industry associations, municipalities and a large number of enterprises (SMEs and multinational companies). The aim of the ITS courses is to train professionals with the technical skills most requested by companies, ready to enter the world of work. The Higher Technical Education Diploma (ITS Diploma) is awarded at the end of a course lasting a total of 1800/2000 learning hours and after passing a final competence evaluation exam.

Learning-by-doing, project work, problem solving, design thinking are just some of the teaching approaches most used by ITS. At least 50% of the teachers/trainers are professionals in the sector made available by the companies that collaborate with ITS: they bring to the classroom the skills and technologies they use every day in their work. The basic principles related to Industry 4.0 technologies are taught in all our courses. 30% of the duration of the courses (up to 800/900 hours) is carried out in the company, through the implementation of projects and activities tailored to students. The internship is, thus, the first work experience for the Higher Technician.

The main profiles trained at ITS Cuccovillo are: Lean Production & Industrial Logistics Specialist; Maintenance, Service & Retail Mechatronics for the Automotive Sector; Higher Technician for Specialized Maintenance of the Integrated Water System; Mechatronics for the Satellite Industry; Mechatronics Technician for Predictive and Diagnostic Control of Railway Technologies and Infrastructures; Mechatronics for the Management and Maintenance of Biomedical Devices; Mechatronics for Experimentation and Development in the Automotive Sector; Predictive Maintenance Technician; Advanced Industrial 4.0 Designer; Mechatronic for the maintenance of large engines (land and naval) and others.

From 2010 (date of establishment of ITS Cuccovillo) to today, the Foundation has had 1163 registered, carried out 49 twoyear courses lasting 2000 hours each and has graduated 712 students, with a placement, at the end of the course, higher than 91%.
