In railway management and maintenance systems field there is an employment gap due to its high costs and the need for specialized labor. Our mission is to provide free open source training materials to bridge this gap and ensure a sustainable and effective vocational education in distance education models.

Our main outputs

  • Simulation Software: a simulation tool which model the railway systems in real world correctly. This simulation software will be open source.

  • Guidelines for the use of Simulation: pedagogical and technical instructions related to the use of the simulation. With RISS tips, teachers can significantly enhance the effectiveness of their simulations! Additionally, students can benefit from a comprehensive technical guide to master the use of the simulation.

  • Online education platform (OEP): an LMS-supported online education environment which provides students with innovative, practical and hands-on learning opportunities in the field of rail systems. An online course management system with features that can perform many of the activities that may be needed on a distance education site.

  • Technical and pedagogical guide to the interface: these recommendations will show teachers how to use the platform in education most efficiently. It will also serve as a technical guide for students, helping them understand how to use the platform and maximize the benefits of this educational material.
